From the founder
Message from the founder
Sofa Lounge started in Shaoxing — not because it was the obvious choice, but because that's where I saw the gap most clearly. Foreigners arriving in a city full of warmth, culture, and creative energy, yet with almost no structured way to connect with each other or with the local Shaoxing people who call it home. That disconnect felt like a waste of something beautiful.
This community is built for both sides of that bridge — the foreigner finding their feet, and the Shaoxing local curious about the world that's arrived at their doorstep. When those two meet, something real happens. That's what Sofa Lounge exists to make possible — starting here, and growing everywhere.
